To mark Encryption Day, the Internet Society (ISOC) India Bengaluru Chapter, in collaboration with Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET), Davanagere, organized a Student Digital Safety Quiz Competition aimed at raising awareness about online security, privacy, and the critical role of encryption in today’s digital world.
Encryption plays a vital role in protecting personal data, securing communications, and maintaining trust on the Internet. Through this initiative, ISOC Bengaluru sought to engage students in meaningful conversations around digital safety, responsible Internet use, and cybersecurity fundamentals, encouraging them to become informed and responsible digital citizens.
The quiz competition was conducted as a live, in-person event at the Aryabhata Seminar Hall, BIET Davanagere, on November 16, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Students from various departments actively participated, demonstrating enthusiasm and curiosity about topics such as secure communication, data protection, online threats, and best practices for staying safe online.
The event was designed to be both educational and interactive, using a quiz-based format to simplify complex concepts related to encryption and digital security. Participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge, learn from real-world scenarios, and gain insights into how encryption safeguards everyday online activities such as messaging, banking, and browsing.
Through initiatives like this, the Internet Society India Bengaluru Chapter continues its commitment to promoting an open, secure, and trustworthy Internet by building awareness and capacity at the student and community level.
