The Internet Society (ISOC) India Bengaluru Chapter, in collaboration with ICANN and Mitel India, organized a Workshop on DNS and DNS Security to enhance awareness and understanding of critical Internet infrastructure and security practices.
The workshop was held on Friday, 7 February 2025, at Mitel, 7th Floor, NXT Tower 1, Embassy Manyata Business Park, Nagavara, Bengaluru.
About the Workshop
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a foundational component of the Internet, enabling users to access online services securely and reliably. This workshop focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of DNS operations, DNS security challenges, and best practices to mitigate risks such as DNS attacks and misconfigurations.
The session aimed to support capacity building among professionals and stakeholders involved in managing and securing network infrastructure.

The workshop featured Champika Wijayatunga,
Senior Manager – Technical Engagement, Asia Pacific, ICANN,
who shared expert insights on DNS fundamentals, emerging security threats, and the importance of adopting secure DNS practices to ensure a resilient Internet.
